About Paul

Paul Kelly has over 40 years experience in fundraising and bid writing in the Midlands, the North West and the South West, chiefly in the cultural, non-profit and charity sectors. He has also spent around 20 years as a grant assessor. He has raised funding ranging from £5,000 to over £800,000 from a diverse range of government schemes and commercial sources including:

  • ‘Blue chip’ commercial Sponsors
  • Arts Council England – Grants For The Arts and Lottery Capital funds
  • National Lottery, Awards For All Fund
  • The National Lottery Charities Board
  • The Urban Programme
  • The Single Regeneration Budget (SRB)

Paul has also managed cultural organisations, restructured failing and near bankrupt companies and sat on the Boards of companies as Director, Chief Executive and funding body representative. He has written business plans, assessed many business plans and taught business planning at University. He has set up companies and charities.

As part of his career, Paul has organised national tours by internationally acclaimed musicians, staged festivals attracting up to 80,000 people, managed a University Degree BA Hons course and taught countless lectures and seminars.

Paul has also written for regional and national publications and had his own 3 hour radio show on Commercial Radio.

Paul has a Diploma in Management studies, an MA in Cultural Planning is Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a member of the Creative Industries Federation.
